F.A.Q
About Urn:
1. What size URN do I need?
Calculating the volume needed for a pet urn is an important step to ensure that the urn can comfortably accommodate your pet’s ashes. Here’s a simple guide on how to calculate the volume needed:
- Determine Your Pet’s Weigh: The first step is to know the weight of your pet before cremation. This is because the volume of ashes is typically a small percentage of the pet’s body weight.
- Use the 3% Rule: As a general guideline, the volume of ashes is approximately 3% of the pet’s body weight. This means if your pet weighs 10 pounds, you should probably get its ash weights 0.3 pounds after cremation.
- Consider the Urn’s Design: Keep in mind that the shape and design of the urn can affect its capacity. Some urns may have a larger or smaller footprint or be taller or shorter, which can influence how much ash they can hold.
- Allow for Personalization: If you plan to personalize the urn, consider that this may add to the urn’s dimensions and affect its capacity.
- Consult with Cremation Services: If you’re unsure, it’s always best to consult with your pet cremation service provider. They can provide the most accurate recommendations based on your pet’s specific weight and size.
By following these steps, you can calculate the volume needed for a pet urn and select one that will provide a fitting and respectful resting place for your beloved pet’s ashes.
here is the caculation and coversion take an example of a 10 pound pet before cremation:
- Caculate the ash weight:10 pounds×03=0.3 pounds
- Convert Ash Weight to Volume:The density of cremated ashes is not uniform, but a common rule of thumb is that 1 pound of ashes can fit into about 20 cubic inches. Therefore, for a 10-pound pet, the volume of the ashes would be approximately: 3pounds×20 cubic inches/pound=6 cubic inches0.3 pounds×20 cubic inches/pound=6 cubic inches
- Convert Cubic Inches to Milliliters:1 cubic inch is approximately equal to 16.387 milliliters. So for a volume of 6 cubic inches: 6 cubic inches×387 milliliters/cubic inch=98.322milliliters, or around 100ML.
2. Can I Bury My Urn?
We do not recommend any urn be buried directly into the ground without a burial vault. The only exceptions being our biodegradable urns which can be buried or released into a body of water.
3. Can I add engraving at a future date (after delivery)?
We get this question a lot, so the short answer is yes, but the long answer is that you will need to find a local engraver in your area who would be comfortable enough with adding engraving on the urn. And we strongly suggest you finish the customization with us before your shipment.
4. How do I seal my urn?
Most every urn comes with a screw on/off method that seals to hand tightness. If you are looking for a permanent seal, the solution is to use a strong epoxy glue (super glue) around the threads of the cap or screw and then hand tighten and let dry. We do not provide such glue as many people spread or share the ashes in the future so require it to be opened.
5. How do I care of/ maintain the urn?
We meticulously source high quality materials for our urn collection to purchase. Each urn is constructed to stand the test of time. What this means is that the most maintenance you will have to perform over time will be the occasional wiping down of the urn with a micro fiber cloth. This of course will only be necessary if dust or finger prints collect on the outside of the material.
About Shipping:
6. When will my order ship?
It depends on the type of the urn you choose. The regular one (with no customization) will ship within 2-3 days after order placed, the customized urn will take around 7-15 days after order placed since we need to give enough time for our artist to create you a perfect urn for your beloved one.
7. Where can I access tracking information?
You should receive an email with tracking information once your order ships. If you do not, please check your spam/junk folder.
8. How long will it take my order to arrive?
It depends on the country you are at. (这部分需要确认一下快递时效,给个大概的范围)
